Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information The Privé collects, why, and what happens to it. The Privé is operated by Anu Priya, an independent travel advisor affiliated with Fora Travel, based in India. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@theprive.in.
What we collect
We collect only what you type into an enquiry form. Nothing on this site requires an account, and we do not ask for payment details at any point.
- Hotel enquiries: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the destination or hotel you are asking about, your check-in and check-out dates, how many adults, children and rooms are travelling, and an indicative budget with the currency it is in.
- Visa enquiries: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, destination, intended travel date, number of travellers, and anything you choose to add in the notes field.
- If children are travelling: the age of each child at check-out. Hotels set occupancy limits, extra-bed charges, breakfast inclusion and kids’ club access by age, so a room cannot be confirmed without it.
- Optional: anything you choose to add in the free-text field.
- Referral attribution: the referral code in a link you followed, if one was present, or one you enter in the form yourself, so the person or business that introduced you can be credited.
The budget you give is an indication for finding the right room, not a payment instruction. We do not ask for payment details at any point. Please do not put health information, card or account numbers, or identity-document numbers in the free-text field. Where a booking genuinely needs any of that, it is handled directly with the hotel rather than through this site.
Why we use it
Solely to respond to your enquiry: for hotels, to check rates and availability, confirm which preferred-partner benefits apply, and correspond with you about the booking; for visas, to pass your request to SprintVisa so its team can assess the application, explain requirements and contact you. We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build profiles, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.
Who it is shared with
- The hotel or its booking system: the details necessary to make an enquiry or reservation in your name.
- Fora Travel: bookings are placed through Fora’s advisor platform, so reservation details are processed there.
- Notion: enquiries are stored in a private Notion database used as our enquiry record. Notion processes data on servers outside India.
- SprintVisa: when you explicitly request visa assistance and consent to the handoff, we share the visa-enquiry details you submitted so its team can contact you and provide the service. SprintVisa is the visa-service provider and processes the information it receives under its own privacy practices.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Where a booking proceeds, hotels require the names of everyone staying, and for international stays may require passport or identification details to satisfy local registration law: in India, Form C reporting for foreign nationals, and equivalent requirements elsewhere. We pass on only what the property asks for, and only once you have decided to book. Hotels and immigration authorities handle that information under their own obligations, not ours.
Cookies and analytics
We measure how the site is used so we can improve it. Two tools are involved: Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser, and Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which do not. We run no advertising pixels and no remarketing tags, and we do not sell or share this data with advertisers.
If you arrive through a link containing ref, we store that short referral code in a first-party cookie for 24 hours. It follows your visit across this site, is added to an enquiry you submit, and is used to prefill referral context when you open WhatsApp. A later referral link replaces the earlier code. A new direct or external visit without a referral code clears it, so an earlier introduction is not credited for a later organic visit. The cookie contains no name, contact details, or booking information.
What we record is what happened, not who did it: the page you viewed, the hotel or destination it was about, which button you pressed, and whether you were on a phone or a computer. When an enquiry is sent, the shape of it goes too — how many nights, how many adults, children and rooms, and whether the notes field was used — so we can see which kinds of trip the site is being asked about. Your name, email address, phone number, budget, a child’s age, and anything you typed in the notes are never sent to these tools. If you search the catalogue, the search term is recorded so we know which hotels people are looking for.
Hotel imagery and Google rating data are still fetched by our own server, not by your browser, so those features do not expose your visit to anyone else.
Any content or script blocker will stop these tools loading, and the site behaves the same without them.
Automated abuse prevention
When you submit an enquiry, your IP address is checked in memory to limit repeat submissions from the same source. It is used for that check only, is not written to the enquiry record, and is discarded shortly afterwards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that lead to a booking are retained while needed for the trip and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle follow-up questions and any dispute. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted on request, and otherwise reviewed periodically and removed once they no longer serve a purpose.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or erase it. You may also withdraw consent at any time, which we will act on unless we are required to retain something. Write to hello@theprive.in and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, credentials for our storage and databases are held server-side and never exposed to the browser, and access to the enquiry record is limited to the advisor. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
Children
This site is intended for adults booking travel, and nothing here is collected from a child directly. Where children are travelling, the enquiry form asks the age of each one at check-out, given by the adult making the enquiry: hotels set occupancy limits, extra-bed charges, breakfast inclusion and kids’ club access by age, so a room cannot be confirmed without it. That age is the only thing we hold about a child, it is used for nothing else, and it is kept and deleted on the same terms as the rest of the enquiry.
Grievance contact
For any complaint about how your personal data has been handled, the point of contact is Anu Priya, reachable at hello@theprive.in. Please write “Data grievance” in the subject line so it is not treated as a booking enquiry. Complaints are acknowledged within 72 hours and resolved within 30 days.
Changes
We may update this policy as the practice changes. The revision date at the top will always reflect the current version. Related terms are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
